HAPI Trails Pastures
HAPI Trails horse rescue · Driggs, Idaho
What we did
- Mulched four log and slash piles in place, one in each of four pastures. The cottonwood logs, limbs and slash the volunteers had piled up were all ground down right where they sat, big trunks included.
- Spread the mulch out where each pile stood, so the pastures are open again.
- Worked around the horses, moving pasture to pasture as the HAPI Trails crew moved the horses and mules.
Before and after
Each pile, and the same spot once the mulcher was through.

On the job
Big trunks and all went through the mulcher.

A few things to know. The mulch will settle and darken over the winter and breaks down on its own over the next couple of years. Grass will come back up through the thinner spots in the spring. If you find any bigger chunks of wood that got left behind as the mulch settles, or there's more piled up down the road, give us a call.
Thank you to Todd, Pam, Julie and everyone at HAPI Trails for having us out. It was a pleasure helping with the work you do for these horses. If you're happy with how it turned out, an honest Google review helps a small outfit like ours a lot. — Wyatt
